Municipality wards to be increased in Tihu-Nalbari

The Nalbari Municipality will increase the number of wards from 12 to 17 and Tihu Municipality will increase it from 4 to 10 in the forthcoming municipality election on March 6.

NALBARI: The Nalbari Municipality will increase the number of wards from 12 to 17 and Tihu Municipality will increase it from 4 to 10 in the forthcoming municipality election on March 6. Nalbari deputy Commissioner Gitimani Phukan, in a press conference announced on Friday.

A total no of 63 polling stations will be arranged for the coming election in 27 wards both in Nalbari and Tihu. Among these stations 49 will be in Nalbari town only. The number of voters has also increased in the municipality areas. At Nalbari town total no of male voters is 18,377 and 18,742 are female voters. At Tihu 5,615 are male voters whereas 5,686 are female voters.
