ONGC extends employment assistance to dependents of deceased employees

GAURISAGAR: Strengthening ONGC’s reputation as an employer who cares, the company recently extended employment assistance on compassionate grounds to dependents of two of its deceased employees of Assam Asset who lost their lives in unfortunate accidents while performing duty.

Uzzal Moran, junior assistant rigman (drilling), met with an unfortunate accident on duty on September 17, 2018 at Rig E-1400-6 at Geleki Field. He had joined ONGC on March 9, 2015 and was the sole bread earner of his family. ONGC’s executive committee, in its meeting held on November 3, approved appointment of his brother Utpal Gogoi on compassionate grounds. Eexecutive Director-cum-Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset, Suresh D Maske handed over the offer of appointment to Utpal Gogoi in presence of his father Dimbeswar Gogoi.

Mohendra Nath Buragohain, deputy SE (P), Well Services of Assam Asset, lost his life in an unfortunate accident at Rig E-2000-IV in Nazira. At the time of application for appointment assistance, none of the dependent family members of Mohendra Nath Buragohain were employed, leaving the family in distress. Milord Buragohain, his son acquired qualification of ITI-Mechanic Diesel and his application was considered by ONGC management for appointment on compassionate ground. Earlier, all death-related assistance/aid were provided to the nominated members of the bereaved families. Subsequently, both the cases for extending employment on compassionate grounds to help the kin from both the bereaved families were recommended by ED-Asset Manager, Assam Asset SD Maske.
