TINSUKIA: A day-long workshop on HIV/AIDS & Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) for nodal teachers’ of high & higher secondary schools of Tinsukia district was held at DIET premises in Tinsukia on Thursday.
The programme organised by DIET Tinsukia in collaboration with Assam State AIDS Control Society, Guwahati was attended by 44 teachers from 22 schools besides faculties of DIET and was inaugurated by Sansita Gogoi, Principal, DIET Tinsukia. In his address as key speaker, Abul Ali, Counsellor (ICTC, DSRC & LAC) Tinsukia Civil Hospital cum RP & Focal Person (ASACS) for Tinsukia district spoke on basic of HIV/AIDS & STI/RTI, updates of HIV/AIDS scenarios in India, Global in general and Assam in particular. He also dwelt at length on HIV- Pathological & Social Drivers, Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) or School AIDS Education Programme (SAEP) and substance abuse & adolescence in 4 technical sessions which was followed by an interactive programme.
