Pilik Choudhury U-14 Inter District Football Tournament begins

GUWAHATI: Pilik Choudhury U-14 Inter District Football Tournament got under way in the city on Tuesday. The competition was inaugurated by former international footballer Jewel Bay. The inaugural function, held at the Nehru stadium, was also attended by the Joint Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Antara Gogoi and Assistant Director Nabajyoti Basumatary, veteran journalist Uday Borgohain, secretary of the Assam Sepak Takraw Association Bishnuram Nunisa and others. Altogether three venues are used to host the event.

Brief results: Nehru Stadium: Baksa vs Majuli 7-1, Chirang vs Biswanath 2-6, Bajali vs Nalbari 0-6,Tinsukia vs Cachar 3-4 (Tie break), Nagaon vs Hailakandi 4-0, Bongaigaon vs Dhemaji 0-5, Darang vs Sivasagar 0-8. Karbi Anglong vs Biswanath 3-4 (tie break), Sonapur: Kamrup vs Dima Hasao 2-0, Lakhimpur vs Golaghat 4-0.
