Ghosal, Anahat-Abhay make semis in squash assuring his ninth Asian Games medal

HANGZHOU: Squash ace Saurav Ghosal won 11-5, 12-10, 11-3 against Japan's Ryunosuke Tsukue in the men's singles quarter-finals, sealing a semi-final spot while also assuring his ninth Asian Games medal. The 37-year-old Saurav Ghosal will take the court against Hong Kong China's Lau Tsz Kwan or Leung Chi Hin Henry in the semi-final at 3:30 PM IST tomorrow.

Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh, India's mixed doubles pair, beat ninth seeds Yeonsoo Yang and Dongjun Lee of the Republic of Korea 11-4, 8-11, 11-1 in the quarter-final, assuring a semi-final spot and a medal at the Asian Games 2023. The duo have already won team medals on their Asian Games debut.

Anahat and Abhay will face Malaysia's Aifa Binti Azman and Mohammad Syafiq Kamal in the semi-final tomorrow at 10:30 AM IST. Agencies
