ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has assured that there would be no dearth of funds in the state to fight Covid-19 pandemic and tackle any situation if arises.

Mein's assertion came after his two-day visit to the districts of eastern Arunachal along the Arunachal-Assam border which ended on Sunday.

"The State government will ensure that sufficient fund is available to fight this Covid-19 pandemic and uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to its people," Mein, who also holds the Finance and Planning portfolios, said.

He said both the state and central government is continuously monitoring the preparedness and actions for management of COVID-19.

The Deputy Chief Minister asked the district administration to keep strict vigil at check gates, especially on the entry and movement of stranded people and students who would be returning home from various places.

He advised the district administrations to take due precautions to monitor every people entering the state so as to prevent the possible spread of the virus.

"The COVID-19 pandemic is an eye opener for all of us. It has taught us that we need to strengthen our health sector with the latest and innovative technologies," Mein said.
