Anil Saikia is from Karhaligaon village of Nagaon district of Assam. He got married in the year 2019 to Kankana Hazarika and is blessed with a son named Angshuraj Saikia. He is son of Akan Chandra Saikia. He is 42 years old. Anil Saikia is contesting elections for the first time .

Education:

He completed his HSLC from Auniati High School in the year 1995. He completed his Higher Secondary from Puranigudam Radhakanta Baruah Higher Secondary School, Nagaon.

Career & Political Life:

Anil Saikia was elected as the district president of BJP's Koliabor unit in the year 2016. This year he would be contesting from Samaguri constituency.

The gross total value of his moveable assets is Rs. 21, 93,189 and his spouse's is Rs. 8, 22,114. His immoveable assets' market value is estimated at Rs. 32,50,000 and his spouse's is at Rs. 31,5000. Saikia has no criminal record.

Controversies

In 2018, unknown miscreants had set on fire Anil Saikia's car. The incident occurred in the Koraligaon area of Nagaon district. Commenting on the incident Saikia said it was done by people from the Opposition to create a sense of panic and mess things up ahead of the panchayat elections in the state. He filed a complaint in the Rupahihat police station of Nagaon.
