Bitupan Saikia is from Molahanitoop, Jamuguri in the district of Golaghat. He is 54 years old. His father's name is Late Chandra Saikia. His wife's name is Smti. Bharati Saikia and they are blessed with two children, a son named Mriganka Saikia and a daughter named Urboshi Saikia.

Education:

He completed his HSLC from Govt. Bezbarua Higher Secondary School in 1986.

Career and Politics:

In Assam Assembly elections of 2016, Bitupan Saikia of BJP was defeated by Ajanta Neog of INC. Ajanta secured 73862 votes while Bitupan Saikia achieved 68649 votes. He was a former candidate of BJP but he jumped over to Congress (INC) soon after BJP declared its list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections and named Ajanta Neog as the BJP candidate from Golaghat. Saikia would now be contesting the Assam Legislative Assembly elections 2021 as a candidate of INC from Golaghat Constituency.
