Early life:

Hira Devi is a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. She is 52 years old. Her father is Vishnu Dev Choudhuryand her mother is Savitri Devi. She came to Assam in the year 1984 after her marriage. She is a businesswoman.

Education:

She is an Arts graduate in History (1990) from Bhagalpur University.

Career and Politics:

She entered the world of politics in the year 2000. She is a founder of the Akhil Assam Hindi BhasiMahilaManch. She openly protested against the wrongdoings of ULFA before entering into politics. Besides being a successful businesswoman, she was also the first women executive member of the Tinsukia Chamber of Commerce and remained in this position till 2009. She was also a member of more than a dozen social, political and business organisations of Tinsukia. She was also the Tinsukia District Congress Committee's treasurer till 9th March 2021. She is contesting the 2021 Assam Assembly Election from Tinsukia against Sanjay Kisan of Bhartiya Janata Party. Kishan is Assam's Minister for Labour and Tea Tribes Welfare.
