Raju Phukan is from Tamuli Gaon, Barpathar from the district of Golaghat. He is about 42 years old. His father's name is Late Ram Chandra Phukan. Contesting Assembly Elections for the first time. 

Education:

He has completed Bachelor of Arts in Education from D.R College which is under Dibrugarh University in the year 2001.

Career & Political Life:

Raju Phukan began his career from Bilgaon regional AASU committee. He held the post of Golaghat district committee president. Later he was elected as the chief organizing secretary of AASU central committee. After being with AASU for 27 years, he resigned from the students body in 2020 and joined Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP). He would be contesting the Sarupathar seat in AJP ticket.
