Early Life

Sanjay Kumar Deb is the son of Late Satyendra Kumar Deb. Sanjay Kumar Deb is a resident of Margherita, Assam. He is a businessman by profession, and he holds the Managing Director position in GTPL V & S Cable Pvt Ltd.

Education

He completed his school education from Carmel School in Digboi. He passed his 12th exam from Tinsukia College.His educational qualification as on date is M.Com from the University of Calcutta in 1993 and ICWA from the Institute of Cost & Works Account of India, Calcutta.

Career & Political Life

Sanjay Kumar Deb is contesting the election from the Margherita constituency. In 1996, he started his political journey by joining the BJP party. He left the BJP party on grounds of difference in ideologies and principles. Now, he has joined the Assam Jatiya Parishad and is all set for the upcoming Assam State Legislative Election, 2021 against the likes of Bhaskar Sharma of BJP party. He contested the 2006 Assam State Legislative Assembly election and won 21,253 votes but lost to Pradyut Bordoloi of Congress who secured 59812 votes.

Social Work

He is a social worker, who works for the welfare of the people of Assam. He is associated with various cultural and social organizations.

Controversy

There is a criminal case filed against him under Section 8 of Land Grabbing Prohibition Act (2010), where he allegedly indulged in wrongful and illegal encroachment.
