Swapan Kar is from Bidhayak Pally, Ward No 9, Lumding of Hojai district. He is 64 years old. His father's name is Late Nihar Bhushan Kar.

Education:

He has completed his Bachelor of Arts from Gauhati University in the year 1987.

Career & Political Life:

He contested Assam Elections thrice – 2006 (Nationalist Congress Party), 2011 (AIUDF), and 2016 (AIUFD).

In this year's Assam Assembly Election 2021, he will be contesting on a Congress(INC) ticket from the Lumding constituency.
