Zabed Islam from Mankachar: Early Life, Controversy & Political Career

Early Life:

Zabed Islam is a resident of Beparipara village No 1 in South Salmara. He was born on 16^thMay, 1968 to Late Zahirul Islam and Hosenara Islam. He got married in the year 1995 to Hashina Islam.

Education:

Zabed completed his B.A (Hon's in Political Sc) from Mankachar College, Mankachar in 1993.

Career and Politics:

Zabed is an ex–MLA (2011) from Mankachar constituency. He got elected to 13th Assam Assembly as an Independent candidate. In 2019 he was nominated as AsomGana Parishad candidate for Indian General Election (17^th Lok sabha election).

He is contesting the 15th Assam Assembly Election 2021 from Mankachar constituency on an Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) ticket.

According to the nomination filed with the Election Commission of India, his total movable assets are worth Rs. 36.58 lakhs. His immovable assets have a market value of Rs 16.95 lakhs.
