Early Life:

Bismita Gogoi was born on January 1, 1972. Her father's name is Late Tokheswar Saikia and her mother's name is Smti. Ahalya Saikia. Her permanent address is Nagaon Khumtai Chariali, from the district of Golaghat, Assam. She got married on 12th December 1997. Her husband was Late Rupak Kr. Gogoi.

She is also engaged in social services and various voluntary services. Her hobbies are reading books, handicrafts, watching news are some of her favourites past time activities.

Education:

She is M.A in Sociology (1996) from Dibrugarh University. She has also completed LLB from RKB Law College under Dibrugarh University in the year 1999.

Career & Political Life:

In 2016 Legislative Assembly election, Mrinal Saikia of BJP defeated Bismita Gogoi of INC. Saikia polled 57637 votes, while Bismita Gogoi polled 40763 votes. In 2011, Assembly Elections, Bismita Gogoi of INC defeated Upashana Gogoi of AGP. Bismita secured 41123 votes while Upashana got 22734 votes.

The gross total value of her moveable assets is estimates at Rs. 52. 88 lakhs. There are no cases or criminal records against her. Fought Assam Elections twice – 2011 and 2016. Fighting Assam Elections for the third time.
