Assam Cabinet Meeting at 5pm today as State's COVID situation worsens

The Assam Government will hold a cabinet meeting at 5 pm today in view of the deteriorating of the COVID-19 situation in the state. Last night eight more people including a doctor of the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital have been tested positive for the new coronavirus, taking the tally of the COVID-19 positive persons in the state to 53. According to sources, the cabinet meeting which will be held may discuss the imposition of complete lockdown in the state again. Besides, the cabinet meeting may also discuss the hike of liquor tax in the state, sources said.
