Assam Press Correspondent Union (APCU) observes its 27th foundation day

DEMOW: The 27th foundation day of the Assam Press Correspondent Union (APCU) was observed in the State by maintaining social distancing on Thursday. In a press release on Thursday morning Manoj Singh, President of Assam Press Correspondent Union (APCU), Central Committee hoisted the APCU flag in Rajgarh of Dibrugarh district.

The foundation day of APCU was organized in the All Assam Small Tea Growers' Association, Tingkhong Regional Committee 'Suneswar Bhawan' premises on Thursday. In the programme, the local mediapersons along with the dignitaries were present. Before the flag hoisting, the swahid tarpan was offered.

Local artiste Biswajit Das performed a song on the occasion. Food items were distributed among the poor families. Masks were distributed and corona awareness and felicitated programmes were done by couple of district committees. On the other hand, under the patronage of APCU, Charaideo District Committee, the APCU convention and foundation day with central programme was to be organized from April 28, April 29 and April 30 at Sonari but due to lockdown, the programme has been postponed.
