Blood bank inaugurated in Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary Civil Hospital

KOKRAJHAR: The blood bank at Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary Civil Hospital, Chirang was inaugurated on Thursday by the Joint Director, Health Services, Dr. Ratul Chandra Bordoloi, in the presence of other senior medical officials, doctors and paramedics.

In his speech, Dr Ratul Chandra Bordoloi said that earlier during emergency, the people of the district had to go to Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar towns to get blood for patients. With the setting up of a new blood bank in the District Civil Hospital, this problem had been resolved as patients could now get easy access to blood from this blood bank. On the first day, two people from district health department donated blood. Dr Bordoloi appealed to the people to come forward for blood donation.
