LAKHIMPUR: In connection with the 163rd anniversary of the Sepoy Mutiny, a blood donation programme was organized in Lakhimpur district on Sunday.

The programme titled as 'Raktadhara' was organized by National Medicos Organization, Assam in association with Sewa Bharati Purbanchal at North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. By donating a unit of blood, Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur Dr. Jeevan B inaugurated the programme in the presence of eminent persons of the district.

The members of the Rashtriya Swayang Sevak Sangha donated blood in the programme. Notably, the programme was organized in order to help the COVID-19 patients and a total of 111 persons, including 7 women, donated blood for helping the needy patients. According to the organizers, the RSS activists of 10 blocks under Lakhimpur district took part in the programme.
