COVID-19: 6 Golaghat areas no longer containment zones

GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat district administration withdrew containment zone restrictions in six villages in the district on Thursday. By an office order vide No. GMJ. 1/2020/COVID-19/ dated 30-04-2020 stated that since declaration of Digholipam, Dhuliagaon, Islampur, Rampur, Bheloguri and Dhemaji Koirbotto under Golaghat district as 'Restricted Zones' under Sec 34 of NDMA, no new case of COVID-19 had been detected in the above given zones. Hence as per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines, these restricted zones would be no longer effective and the restrictions that were so imposed in these zones including 'Buffer Zones' were withdrawn with immediate effect. These six villages were sealed after nine persons tested positive for COVID-19.
