Dibrugarh HMMS felicitated Safai karmis, money donated to CM's Relief Fund

DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh Hindu Milan Mandir Samiti (HMMS), an affiliated body of Bharat Seva Sangha, felicitated 20 safai karmis (sanitation workers) of Dibrugarh Municipality Board with phulam gamosa, masks and a packet of food items in recognition of their immense service in the fight against coronavirus.

The function organized on the occasion was attended, amongst others, by ward commissioner of ward no. 18, Ranjit Chetia, president of Hindu Milan Mandir Management Committee, Madhusudhan Ghosh, vice-president Sudip Kumar Banik and secretary Debnath Lahiri. The Mandir committee also distributed relief packets to 135 poor families of Subash Pally, Grahambazar and Naliapool areas. HMMS also offered lunch to police officials of Sadar Police Station on Tuesday.

HMMS earlier contributed Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund through Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha. The Muslim community of Dibrugarh also came forward with financial assistance to help the Assam Government in its fight against the dreaded coronavirus. On behalf of several masjid committees of Dibrugarh, Dr Ahmed Ulla Khan, Imran Hussain, Giyasuddin Ahmed and Imdad Ali met the Deputy Commissioner, Pallav Gopal Jha and donated a sum of Rs 82,000 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund through him.
