HAFLONG: Normal life in Haflong was affected by the bandh as vehicles were off the roads. All the business establishments, markets and banks remained closed. All government and semi-government offices remained closed too, except the offices of the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police. The Halali Progressive Welfare Society has called the 36 hrs peaceful "Dimaraji Bandh" from 5 am of May 14 to 5 pm of May 15, demanding immediate arrest of culprit involved in Sontosh Hojai killing and proper implementation of Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) signed between government of India, government of Assam and both the factions of Dima Halam Daogah, which was responded spontaneously and peacefully.

Dilip Nunisa, president, Halali Progressive Welfare Society offered his sincere thanks to the people of Dima Raji for extending their support to the bandh for the cause of justice. Expressing concern over the government's silence over the incident even after 20 days of kidnapping and killing of Santosh Hojai of Harangajao, Nunisa informed that if the government fails to deliver justice to the people of Dima Raji even after their repeated appeal the people of entire Dima Raji would be compelled to go for indefinite hunger strike as they should not be held responsible for any untoward happenings. He appealed to the people of Dima Raji to fight for justice unitedly and peacefully. Reports of bandh from places like Langting, Mahur, Maibang, Harangajao, Umrangso are pouring in. However, no untoward incident was reported thus far.
