Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY): Reaching out to the needy people across Assam
GUWAHATI: The Union Government is taking all sorts of initiatives to reach to the people who are in need during the nationwide lockdown. As part of this initiative the government announced free food grains and cash payment to women and poor senior citizens and farmers ubder the PMGKY scheme. The swift implementation of the package is being continuously monitored by Central and State governments.
One of such beneficiary is Kabita Das from Cachar district. The financial help brought a smile on her face because she knows that during this period of lockdown she can buy some essential food items for her family.
Likewise Marjina Khatunfrom Lurphuria village and Basanti Das from Gajiya village of Barpeta district got free ration and financial assistance. Bina Roy and Namita Das from Durgabari of Dhubri district also got free ration and financial assistance under PMGKY. Ruma Das and Smt. Nupur Das from Dhubri district received Rs 810 against a free LPG cylinder under the UjjwalaYojanainscheme. They are thankful to the PM and his generosity for understanding the plight of the weaker section of the people.There are many similar instances coming from different parts of the State where people are getting the benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
