Three accused in Harekrishna Das murder case arrested by Barpeta Police

BARPETA: The three accused in the Harekrishna Das murder case were arrested in Guwahati on Saturday morning by Barpeta Police.

Riki Das of Palangdihati had allegedly hit on the head of Harekrishna Das in front of Biki Das of Palangdihati, Jayanta Das and Simanta Das the night of April 26. Harekrishna Das was sent to Guwahati in a serious condition and on April 28, he breathed his last.

The 11-year old daughter of Harekrishna Das is the eye witness of the attack on her father. After the incident, all the accused were absconding. But on Saturday, three of them were arrested u/s 447/379/511/302/34 IPC in the registered case no. 784/2020. The police team of Barpeta led by Superintendent of Police Dr Robin Kumar and the in-charge of the case, Pranjit Das caught them. Simanta Das was absconding till filing of this report.
