Youths attacked in Sarupathar; 2 arrested

SARUPATHAR: In a shocking incident, two youths attempted to kill another by stabbing them with a knife in Sarupathar on Monday evening. The incident took place near Sarupathar Police Station. They have been identified as Naksuk Khan and Akbar Khan, residents of Ward No 3 of Sarupathar town under Golaghat district. They were immediately admitted in a civil hospital of Sarupathar with serious injuries after the miscreants Imran Hussian, Sanju Ali, Rose Ali, Riyaz Ali, and Siraj Ali attacked them with the knife, police said.

Meanwhile, all of them reportedly got into a fight (personal clash) on Monday evening in Sarupathar town. A case has been registered at Sarupathar Police Station vide case no. 60/2020 under section 302/303/304 Indian panel Code 1860. The police have detained the two accused in connection with the attack. However, both of them were immediately referred to the Golaghat Civil Hospital but Naksuk Khan breathed for the last time on his way to the hospital, the source said. Later, Sanju Ali confessed to the police of committing the crime, narrating the entire incident. Further search operation is on.
