ACMS submits 30,000 signatures

GOLAGHAT, May 21: The activists of Asom Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) Golaghat district committee staged protest near the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and submitted 30,000 signatures of ACMS members to the Deputy Commissioner opposing the bill. The activists raised various slogans against the BJP government and expressed strong opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. In Golaghat, 108 branches of ACMS took part in the protest and tea garden workers came out to protect the identity of the indigenous people of Assam by opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. Later, they submitted memorandum along with the mass signatures demanding immediate withdrawal of the bill.
