MANGALDAI: The closing ceremony of 'Ajeya Warrior -V'-- a joint military exercise between India and the United Kingdom -- was conducted on Tuesday at West Down Camp, Salisbury Plains Training area in the UK.

Prominent dignitaries like the Deputy High Commissioner of India in the UK, Charanjeet Singh, Brig VMB Krishnan, Commander of 7 Infantry Brigade of British Army Brigadier, Tom Bewick and Defence Attaché to the UK in India, Brigadier Gavin graced the closing ceremony.

The exercise included joint training in urban and semi-urban areas wherein a series of important lectures, demonstrations, and drills related to counter-terrorist operations were rehearsed and executed jointly. The highlight of the exercise was the bonhomie and camaraderie displayed by troops, thereby ensuring integration and achievement of interoperability at all levels. Besides training, both the contingents also mesmerized the gathering in a scintillating cultural evening. The joint training was undoubtedly an unprecedented success and achieved enviable standards required for operating in counter-terrorist operations. The exercise will go a long way in further cementing relations between both the nations.
