Assam Accord's Clause 6 committee to submit report to CM Sonowal on Feb 25

Guwahati: The high-level committee on Assam Accord's Clause 6 to submit its report to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on February 25, 2020, in the presence of the entire State Cabinet.

It is to be noted that the high-powered panel was formed to give recommendations to implement Clause 6 of the Assam Accord.

Addressing the press conference at the Janata Bhawan in Guwahati, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the panel headed by Biplab Sarma has already completed the report by February 17, 2020. The committee will submit its report to the CM Sarbananda Sonowal on Feb 25 in the presence of the entire State Cabinet.

“The report on Assam Accord's Clause 6 will be handed over to the centre by Assam Government, if necessary the Home Ministry might hold a meeting with the committee in this regard in New Delhi,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma.
