BAYM stages protest

DEMOW, June 11: The Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM) Demow Town Committee staged protest in Demow Chariali on Monday at NH-37 road and burnt the effigy of Mridul Kumar Mahanta, Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong district, for his controversial comments after the merciless lynching of two Assamese youths in Karbi Anglong. The activists shouted various slogans against the Deputy Commissioner and demanded his suspension. They also demanded proper punishment for the culprits. Under the leadership of Jadumoni Kalita, president of BAYM Demow Town Committee and Jadab Gogoi, president of BAYM Sivasagar District Committee, the protest was staged.
