Breaking: Amitabh Bachchan tests COVID-19 positive, admitted to hospital

Guwahati: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has tested COVID-19 positive and has been admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati hospital, on Saturday.

"T 3590 -I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !", the megastar wrote in a tweet, confirming his COVID019 positive status.

The Bollywood megastar was last seen in Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo alongside Ayushmann Khurrana that recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video. The film was originally slated for a theatrical release but could not be shown due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Bachchan has a slew of upcoming movies -- such as Chehre, Brahmastra, and Jhund -- to be released in the near future. Bachchan has also been confirmed to host the twelfth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the auditions of which concluded in May.
