Broad daylight burglary incident in Lanka under Hojai District

Lanka: Unidentified miscreants looted around Rs 2.5 lakh from one identified as Dilip Paul near Canara Bank in Lanka today morning.

As per reports, Dilip Paul withdrew an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh from United Bank of India near Shillong Road in Lanka Town and was about to deposit the same at Canara bank when he received a phone call.

While he was talking over the phone, a gang of miscreants took away the cash Rs 2.5 lakh from the box of his two-wheeler vehicle (scooter).

A case has been registered at Lanka Police Station by the victim Dilip Paul.

Further Police investigation is on.

Guwahati: In a sensational incident, masked bike-borne miscreants loot cash Rs 3 lakh from a man near State Bank of India (Airport Branch) at VIP area in Borjhar on September 12.

The victim identified as Haren Chandra Das was looted near VIP while he was engaged in shopping some household stuff.

A case has been registered in connection to the incident at Borjhar Police Outpost.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Borjhar Police Outpost, in-charge, Shahnaz Yasmin had also the confirmed the incident and further informed that the police team is investigating the matter and will update the follow up to the media soon.

It is to be noted that the victim Haren Chandra Das, a resident of Chaukdaur at Depor Bill had reportedly withdrawn the amount from the bank for his daughter’s marriage.

Tinsukia: Sensation triggered in Tinsukia town following a broad day robbery in Chirapatty area on September 4.

As per sources, bike-borne robbers looted an amount Rs 2 lakh rupees by snatching away the cash bag and fled from the spot.

The victim identified as Sanjeev Konwar, a resident of Dhekiajan area under Dibrugarh District involved in tea business lodged a complaint in connection to the matter.

In his complaint, he said that he came out of the United Bank of India, Chirapatty Branch after withdrawing an amount Rs 2 lakh when the incident happened.

Meanwhile, Tinsukia police have been conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
