TANGLA, May 27: A local rice trader, Sushil Das (54) has been missing since May 22. Reportedly, he informed his family that he would board a train to Guwahati for business purposes. Subham Das, son of Sushil Das, a resident of Paschim Nalbari village under Tangla Police Station, said that they had not been able to contact him since 12 pm of that day. Talking to media persons, his son said, “When we were unable to contact him on his mobile phone, we visited his business associates in Guwahati to know his whereabouts. When he still could not be traced, we lodged a missing report with Tangla Police.”

The family members also informed Udalguri Superintendent of Police Rajveer Singh who has assured them of needful action. The family members have also not ruled out the possibility of Das being kidnapped but stated that they had not received any ransom call. “We are trying to find whereabouts of the missing businessman, but no leads were found yet,” a police official said. Tangla Police are conducting further investigation.
