Engineer looted

GOALPARA, July 2: Nabajyoti Patgiri (28), engineer by profession in the Guwahati-based India Carbon Company, was looted on Saturday night at the platform of Goalpara railway station after his arrival from Guwahati and when he was waiting for a vehicle to the town in the waiting room. Two unknown youths shared tea with him and after that he became unconscious. Railway police later admitted him in Goalpara Civil Hospital where he regained partial consciousness on Sunday. His laptop, mobile phone, gold rings, ATM cards and other items worth Rs 1 lakh were taken away by the miscreants. People have blamed security lapse at the station.
