Freshers’ social in Demow College

DEMOW, June 28: The 48th Freshers’ Social was organized by Demow College Students’ Union on Thursday with a day-long programme for the new session. The programme started with flag hoisting by Dr.Bipul Gogoi, Assistant Professor in Sociology Department of Demow College. The swahid tarpan was offered by Deb Kumar Barbarua, president of Demow College Students’ Union. Lakhinandan Tai, general secretary of Demow College Students’ Union, inaugurated the plantation programme.

A general meeting was organized which was presided over by Dr Deba Kanta Phukan, Principal of Demow College. Ajay Kumar Gogoi, Head of Department (HOD) in Political Science in Moran Women College, was present as specific orator in the meeting. Naranath Chetia, president of Demow College administration committee, was present in the meeting as invited guest.

An exchange of opinion programme was organized among the former and new general secretaries and alumni and new students of Demow College. Later a cultural programme was organized where popular singer Debojit Borah performed.
