Govt. clears executive order for death of rapists involved in rape of children below 12

A law or an emergency executive order has been signed to introduce capital punishment for child rapists involved in raping children below the age of 12 years.  This is an effort that has been seen to signal the government’s commitment against crimes against children and women. This change has been cleared at the Union Cabinet convened by Prime minister. Another law was cleared by the Cabinet that would let the government seize equity of the economic offenders of the country.

Union minister for women and child development, Maneka Gandhi wanted to change the law a week before the unfortunate murder and gang rape of an eight-year-old in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua but during the Saturday’s meeting, the proposal was formally moved by the Home Ministry.

This wasn’t the first time that such of an act has passed, the cabinet has noted that capital punishment for rape sometimes don’t work.

After the horrific rape cases in Kathua and Unnao, people thought BJP leaders were protecting the rapists even when the party was acting against the leaders who were found involved in the rape case allegations.
