Husband Kills Lakhimpur Man in Arunachal over alleged affair with his Wife

Lakhimpur: In a shocking incident of murder and abduction, a small-time businessman from Lakhimpur was abducted and killed for allegedly having an extra-marital affair with the accuser’s wife in Koloriang area under Kurum Kumey District in Arunachal Pradesh.

As per a report, the small-time businessman identified as Anarul Islam from North Lakhimpur was reportedly working at Koloriang Market in Arunachal Pradesh was abducted on July 15, 2019, by one Kama Bagang.

Speaking to the media, Superintendent of Police, Kurum Kumey District, Rajib Ranjan informed that a missing complaint was lodged at Koloriang Police station by the elder brother of the victim Anarul Islam on July 21, 2019. The complainant also mentioned the names of the suspected accused Riya Maya, Kama Bagang, Ria and Peter in the FIR.

It may also be mentioned that victim Anarul Islam was allegedly involved in a business relation with suspected accused Riya Maya, informed SP Rajib Ranjan further.

A case of abduction was registered at Koloriang Police Station. Based on the complaint report, Koloriang Police conducted an investigation into the matter and apprehended the suspects for interrogation and thoroughly examined them, however, both Kama Bagang and his wife Riya Maya were reported absconding from their place.

SP Ranjan also mentioned that the police team also used electronic surveillance to trace the whereabouts of both the couple in all the suspected areas nearby Koloriang.

Finally, on July 31, 2019, police arrested both the suspected accused and brought them under six-day police remand. Later, Kama Bagang during the police interrogation confessed to his crime.

As per the confession report, Kama Bagang had suspected that his wife was in an extramarital relationship with victim Anarul Islam. Therefore, on July 15, he forcefully abducted Anarul Islam from Koloriang and took him to a nearby jungle and murdered him and later thrown his body into the river.

Furthermore, SP Rajib Ranjan informed that due to the ongoing Monsoon season, inaccessible terrain, muddy water and strong current in the river belt, the body of the victim has not been recovered yet; however, the search operation is on.
