Indian Army conducts Counter-Insurgency Ops in Dibrugarh, 3 ULFA (I) linkmen Nabbed

Dibrugarh: The Indian Army’s Dao Division arrested three active ULFA (I) linkmen in counter-insurgency operations from different areas of Dibrugarh District in Assam on Saturday.

Police informed that the ULFA (I) linkmen were actively involved in raising money for the outfit by means of extortion and that they were all involved in various crimes and anti-social activities in upper Assam. The trio has been identified as Haren Chandra Das, Mukib Ahmed, and Sushil Pradhan.

Sources further informed that a special unit of the Dao Division of the Indian Army received special information from its intelligence unit and tip off local moles that three ULFA (I) over ground workers were present in Dibrugarh and actively involved in various crimes and extortion.

A special combing operation was rapidly initiated by the 9th battalion of Rajputana Rifles and after a massive manhunt, the Army was successful in apprehending the three ULFA (I) linkmen from different locations of Dibrugarh.

It may be mentioned that in the recent past, the glorious 9th battalion of the Rajputana Rifles have been actively involved in counter-insurgency ops in Assam and the Northeast region and has concluded several successful operations in a bid to foil insurgency attempts by various active terror-outfits in various parts of the state.

Meanwhile, the Dibrugarh Police has registered an FIR at the Dibrugarh Police station.
