Lakhimpur Still Under Devastating Flood, Thousands Displaced

Guwahati: The devastating floods in Assam have still gripped Lakhimpur District as water level does not seem to recede soon. Thousands of people have been affected and are suffering for the last one week. As the Chirang River has changed its direction, National Highway 15 is submerged which was the major way for transportation. The villagers are now praying that the water level of Chirang goes down as each day more and more people are being displaced.
