M.C Mary Kom Clichés Gold at the Silesian Open Boxing Tournament

India’s boxing sensation and the five-time world boxing champion M C Mary Kom clinches another honour on Sunday as she bagged a Gold in 48 kg category at the Silesian Open boxing Tournament for women in Gliwice, Poland. Notably, this is the third Gold medal for the north-eastern boxer in this year.

Mary defeated her opponent Aigerim Kassanayeva of Kazakhstan to win the bout 5-0. Her team India coach Rafaelle Bergamasco, praising her after the match, said, “Mary was terrific in executing her strategy, it was a flawless performance.”

The previous two Gold medals won by the female boxer in this year were in the inaugural India Open in Delhi and the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, respectively. In addition to this, there is a silver medal too in the current year that she won at the prestigious Strandja Memorial Tournament in Bulgaria.
