Magisterial inquiry ordered

Goalpara, May 15: The Goalpara district administration has announced a magisterial inquiry into a scuffle incident between the two groups at Paikan under Krishnai police station on April 21 which led to serious injury to two persons. Kabita Deka, executive magistrate, will hear and take evidence on Thursday in this regard at the Krishnai BDO office. The incident took place at the Arshad Green Nursery where the organizers of the Krishnai Ancholik Bihu committee went to collect donation. However, the employees of the nursery first refused to pay and allegedly attacked the organizers with machete. Dosimuddin Hazarika, president, and Rezaul Islam Bhaiti sustained grave injuries in the attack. A section of people later set ablaze the nursery alleging that the nursery was run by criminals with doubtful citizenship. Lakhs of burnt old Rs 500 notes were also recovered from the scene.
