Man dies under mysterious circumstances in Lakhimpur, Family alleges Murder

Lakhimpur: In a sensational incident, a body of a man was recovered under mysterious circumstances near Chaboti Railway over bridge in Lakhimpur on Tuesday morning.

The body, however, was identified as Bakul Gogoi of Sonari village located in Chaboti under Lakhimpur District.

As per family sources of the deceased, Bakul goes missing since last Sunday and didn’t return back home thereafter.

It is to be noted that the body was spotted by a pedestrian floating in a pond nearby Chaboti Railway over bridge and accordingly informed the matter to the Lilabari police station.

On the other hand, the family members of the deceased claimed it to be a case of murder and demanded a strong investigation.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem.

An unidentified body of a woman, aged between 17-20 years, was found under the mysterious condition at an approach road area around 19 Km from the main road, which leads to Hawa Camp at Kimin in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Kimin police station officer in-charge Kime Komo informed that the body was found on Friday under the mysterious condition with burn injuries making it all the more difficult for its identification.

“Till now nobody has approached the police for missing compliant or to identify the victim,” the OC informed.

On further inquiry around the nearby area, villagers seemed to be clueless as to where the body came from. On a closer look, the victim seems to be a non-local. This might be a case where outsider is involved, who have disposed off the body here after committing the crime as this is a border area, the OC said.

However, nothing can be assumed now as enquiry is going on to solve the case. Post mortem has been done at Community Health Centre, Kimin and the body is at RK Mission Hospital Mortuary in Itanagar, Komo added A murder case has been registered the OC further added.

Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) while vehemently condemning the heinous crime said that such brutality meted out to a girl child is highly condemnable and a very disturbing trend.

In a communiqué to the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), the APWWS urged upon the former to constitute a special investigation team to unearth the truth behind the incident in order to book the culprit soon.
