DIBRUGARH, June 25: Like every year, Brahmaputra Diagnostics and Hospitals on Sunday felicitated 33 meritorious students of the district from the BPL section under the Brahmaputra Hospital Welfare Society. The students, who passed out with flying colours in the recent HSLC exam, were felicitated with a certificate of merit and one-time financial aid. The event was graced by MP, Rameshwar Teli as chief guest.
Other dignitaries to have graced the occasion included MLAs Prashanta Phukan and Rituparna Baruah; Ranjit Kumar Baruah of Assam Medical College and Hospital and senior journalists Lohit Deka and Ikbal Ahmed. All the dignitaries were felicitated with the traditional gamosa by the proprietor of the nursing home, Hafizur Rahman. Addressing the gathering, Teli said that he never thought that he would become an MP someday. It was only after painstaking effort and perseverance that he reached to the present level. He, therefore, advised the students to work hard and achieve their goals.
