Mohan and Vidhi bag 5th and 6th position in HS Commerce

TANGLA/UDALGURI, May 31: Like previous years, the National Pioneer Junior College has once again brought laurels to Tangla town and Udalguri district by clinching the 5th and 6th position in the HS Commerce stream, results of which were declared on Thursday. Mohan Pradhan clinched 5th position securing 86 marks in English, 91 in Alt. English, 90 in Accountancy, 98 in Business Studies and 96 in Economics. He obtained 92.2 per cent by securing 461 out of 500. He is the son of Tez Bahadur Pradhan and Renuka Pradhan, resident of Amlaguri village of Ghagra in Udalguri. “The hardships my family have endured in enrolling me for higher studies has inspired me a lot. I studied an average of 6-8 hours daily. One should study regularly by maintaining consistency,” he told media persons. He had bagged the 20th position in the HSLC exam, 2016.

Meanwhile, Vidhi Beria of the same institute secured 6th position, scoring 90 marks in English, 93 in Alt. English, 95 in Accountancy, 91 in Business Studies and 91 in Economics. She obtained 92 per cent by securing 460 out of 500. She is the daughter of Dilip Kumar Beria and Shilpa Beria, resident of Ward No.3 of Tangla. “One should focus on studies along with taking out time for extra-curricular activities. The time of study doesn’t matter, rather the quality of time is important,” she told media persons. She said dedication, self-control and hardwork were the key to success. Both the position holders aspire to become chartered accountants. The Principal of the academy, Parvezul Islam said, “Hard work and dedication bring the expected results and it is the effort of both students and teachers which have yielded fruit.” The position holders were feted by various student bodies and organizations like AASU, AAGSU and AKRSU.
