National Dengue Day observed

Tezpur, May 16: With an aim to control dengue by creating awareness and initiating preventive action, National Dengue Day was observed on Wednesday here at Tezpur Kanaklata Civil Hospital premises, organized by the District Health Society, Sonitpur, under National Vector Disease Control programme. Dr S P Bordoloi, Chief Medical and Health Officer (Communicable Disease), Sonitpur, who presided over the meeting, described various aspects of dengue fever and emphasized the need of inter-sectorial coordination and also discussed the preventive measures with special emphasis on preventing Aedes mosquito breeding and stressed community participation. The programme was attended by many dignitaries like Dr S Borah, District Epidemiologist, R N Brahma Choudhury, DIPRO, Sonitpur, Dhurba Choudhury, VBD consultant and others.
