Pay cut ordered against errant teachers

SIVASAGAR, May 21: Continuing drive against errant teachers, Sivasagar Inspector of Schools Md. Abdul Zelil on Friday visited Moran HS School and served pay cut notices to 30 teachers whom he found absent during his visit. The teachers, barring a few, left school early without heeding the SEBA or AHSEC time table. The academic atmosphere in the district has improved significantly due to the authorities’ sudden visits to the schools, thereby keeping a section of errant teachers on tenterhooks. Pallav Gopal Jha, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, has instructed the officers concerned to carry out such inspections in all educational institutions to ascertain regular attendance of the teachers. The Deputy Commissioner himself visited Laksminagar ME School.
