Principal of Faculty HS School arrested on charges of Molestation, informed CP Deepak Kumar

Guwahati: In yet another startling incident, the principal of Faculty HS School, Amingaon, North Guwahati allegedly molested one Gauhati University student in a running bus on Sunday evening.

The victim and the accused were on the same bus which was coming from Mangaldai to Guwahati.

City Commissioner, Deepak Kumar informed the media, one Jugal Chandra Bora has been arrested on charges of molestation by Jalukbari police. "We have arrested the accused and will forward him to the court," said Commissioner Deepak Kumar.

As stated by the Commissioner of Guwahati City, Principal of Faculty High Secondary School, Jugal Chandra Bora is a resident of Narengi in Guwahati.

City Commissioner Deepak Kumar on last Saturday informed that the police had two persons for allegedly molesting their 17-year-old niece in Guwahati since last six months.

Based on a complaint filed by Gautam Sharma, a city-based journalist of an Assamese daily, police picked up one Tankeswar Handique and Hiruprasad Deka on Friday night in connection to the incident.

A case also was registered (no 134/19) under POSCO Act and under section 376/ (A) (B) of the Indian Penal Code against the duo.

It may be mentioned that the victim girl came to stay in Handique’s house two years back after she had lost her father and her mother who subsequently married another man.

Speaking to media, City Commissioner, Deepak Kumar further informed that the victim girl was handed over to the Childline Guwahati and all possible steps were initiated by the city police for her security.

Notably, another accused Debasish Deka, nephew of Hiruprasad Deka is reported to be absconding.
