Ronghang visits flood-hit areas

DONGKAMUKAM, June 16: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member CEM Tuliram Ronghang, along with his Council colleagues, visited flood-hit areas of West Karbi Anglong district on Saturday.

While visiting the relief camps at Namtaradubi and camps at other places, the CEM assured all possible of help in supplying relief materials. The most affected constituency in the fresh flood is Bithung Rengthama MAC Constituency, a constituency represented by CEM Tuliram Ronghang himself. It may be mentioned that the first wave of this year’s has been caused in the district when the Kopili river soared due to torrential rains in the past days. Villages like Kollongamukh, Bithung, Mugasong, Namtaradubi, Vo-api etc and schools like Rajendra Memorial LP School, Namtaradubi LP School, Rangke Teron Memorial ME schools etc have also been submerged by flood water.

The road connecting Hojai-Tumpreng also remained cut off for two days. However, water receded this morning and connection has been restored.
