Seven students from Pathsala among rank holders in HS exam

PATHSALA, May 31: Like previous years, Pathsala town again produced brilliant result in the HS final exam, 2018. Altogether seven students from Pathsala managed to get ranks among the top ten rank holders of the State in the HS exam. As soon as the results were declared, there was jubilation in the entire town.

Krishna Kanta Handique Junior College established in 2006 produced six rank holders. Niharika Goswami, daughter of Subhash Goswami and Barnali Goswami, secured second position in HS Science stream and also secured State highest marks in English (97). She scored 98 in MIL, 97 in Physics, 97 in Chemistry, 94 in Biology and 76 in Mathematics. She got 483 marks in total and aspires to be a doctor.

Bhaskar Jyoti Kalita secured 3rd position in HS Science stream. He is the son of Harihar Kalita and Ranu Kalita of Barbang Keotpara, both employees of Arunachal Pradesh. He secured 480 marks with State highest mark in Chemistry (99). He will pursue B.Tech.

Bhaswati Kalita secured 4th rank in HS Science stream. She is the daughter of Brajendra Nath Kalita, a venture school teacher, and Kokila Kalita, a housewife, of Maharani Nadipar. She secured 479 marks and she wants to pursue B.Sc with Physics as Major subject.

Bhanita Roy, daughter of Mahadev Roy, a service holder of Assam Police department, and Banadevi Uzir Roy, resident of Santipur Pathsala, bagged the 3rd position with 484 marks in HS Arts stream with State highest marks in Economics (100). She will pursue BA course with Major in Economics and wants to join the civil services in future.

Rituparna Kalita, daughter of Himangshu Kumar Das and Hiramnayee Das, a resident of Bhabanipur Kalbari, secured 4th position in HS Arts stream with State highest marks in Economics (100) and scored 482 marks. She will pursue BA course with English as Major subject. She too wants to join the civil services.

Hiyashree Choudhury, daughter of Satyendra Choudhury and Babita Talukdar, an Anganwadi worker and resident of Barbang Pathsala, bagged the 6th position in HS Arts stream securing 480 marks. She scored State highest marks in Anthropology (99). She will pursue degree course with Economics as major subject and appear for the UPSC exams.

Fardin Rafique secured 10th position in Science stream from Anandarm Baruah Academy of Pathsala. He is the son of Rafiqul Islam Mondal and Firoza Ahmed of Kamrup district. All the rank holders were felicitated by various student bodies and organizations, including AASU, AJYCP, ABVP and AGP.

Meanwhile, Thaneswar Malakar, Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta, Pabindra Deka, MLA of Patacharkuchi LAC and a number of well-wishers met the students and congratulated them on their success.
