Six youths intending to join NDFB (S) nabbed

KOKRAJHAR, May 22: Based on specific inputs, the Army and Assam Police launched an operation on Monday at Kokrajhar Railway Station and nabbed six persons who were to board a train. Sources said the joint operations team successfully nabbed six individuals waiting to board a train to Rangiya. Three individuals, identified as Thaika Narzary, Jyanendra Wari and Nabaraj Brahma, during interrogation, confessed to be working for NDFB (S) as over ground workers and the remaining three individuals, identified as Swrangsar Basumatary (19), Swmkhwr Brahma (16) and Nwrswn Mushahary (17), during interrogation, confessed to have been recruited for NDFB (S). All six individuals were traveling to Myanmar, via Mon district of Nagaland for training. Recoveries included six mobile handsets, 10 SIM cards and Rs. 2,180 and one backpack.

Meanwhile, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh, while talking to reporters, said the NDFB (S) had been trying to lure young boys for fresh recruitment. He called upon the parents and guardians to be watchful on their children so that they are not misguided. He also said the NDFB (S) operatives were constantly contacting the Bodo youths who are working in various private companies in Bangalore and other cities to join their struggle and predicted that many innocent youths whose earnings were not satisfactory could easily be lured by the militant outfit. He also said the NDFB (S) was targeting young boys, especially from BPL families, which was a matter of concern.
