Three Zeliangrong United Front (Kamson) cadres, one Accomplice arrested in Cachar

Silchar: In a major development with reference to Udarband PS C/No 146/18 u/s 387/507/511 IPC and according to additional information received from one apprehended Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) cadre Njeulekbe Riame alias Avoi, a joint operation was launched by Cachar police alongwith 37 Assam Rifles in Rangmaijan area, PS - Jirighat, Cachar in the early hours of Thursday.

In due course of operation, 3 cadres of ZUF (Kamson) faction and one accomplice were apprehended and a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from them.

In the meantime, a person identified as Mapa Jemei, 2nd lieutenant of ZUF(Kamson) faction managed to flee away and a massive manhunt is underway.

The apprehended persons have been recognized as Haisuive Pame (26yrs) alias Ashui, Lieutenant rank ZUF cadre, son of Changlakam Pamei, vill - Mahur, PS - Mahur, Dist - Dima Hasao, Assam, Agaung Jeme (26yrs), cadre ZUF, son of Zinpatbe Jeme, vill - Jaluki, PS - Jaluki, Dist - Peren, Nagaland, Azeu Pame (33yrs), cadre ZUF, son of Tateuliang Pame, vill - Mew Beisunpui, PS- Athibung, Dist - Peren, Nagaland and Izohowangbe Pame (53yrs), son of lt Ileituaing Pame, vill - Rangmaijan, PS- Jirighat, Dist - Cachar, Assam

The arms & ammunition recovered included 1 no of 5.56 HK 33 rifle with 2 magazined, 243 numbers of 5.56mm live ammunition, 1 number 7.65 mm pistol (China made) with 3 7.65 mm live ammunition, one Columbia knife along with a Smartphone and two sim cards.
