Two Earthquakes measuring 5.6 & 3.8 on the Richter scale jolts Northeast on Friday

Guwahati: Two major earthquakes jolt entire Northeast at around 2.52 pm today.

As per reports stated by the Indian Meteorological Department, the first earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitudes occurred on July 19, 2019, at around 2:52 pm with Latitude:27.4 N & Longitude: 92.9 E.

IMD sources also informed that the epicentre of the quake was reported to be 10 km away from the region of East Kameng District in Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, an aftershock measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale hits entire Northeast at around 3:04 pm with Latitude 27.7 N & Longitude: 92.8 E, Depth: 10 Km, epicentre: East Kameng District in Arunachal Pradesh.

So far no casualties were reported from the spot, informed sources, however, the tremors were felt in Guwahati and others parts of Assam and Northeast today afternoon.

Update: Another aftershock with Magnitude 4.9 rocked northeast soon after the massive earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale at around 3:21 pm today. Latitude: 27.9 N & Longitude: 93.3 E, Depth: 95 Km, the epicentre was reported to be 95 kilometres away from Kurung Kumey District in Arunachal Pradesh.
